The Atlantis TS-XII Submarine is Mexico's first and only Submarine, and there is nothing comparable around. The Atlantis can accommodate up to 48 passengers comfortably. The submarine is pressurized and air-conditioned and can complete up to seven dives daily.
All passengers are briefed in the Atlantis Ready Room, a traditional Mayan-styled building. A briefing officer discusses currents, weather conditions and significant sightings by using a large glass tactical display. Following the briefing passengers will embark on a voyage, aboard the marine research vessel, just off the Manchones Reef. While aboard the passengers will get some hand-on training using devices like fish feeding, navigational tools, visibility gauges and the equipment used to deploy artificial marine habitats.
Upon returning back to destination Atlantis passengers will receive a complementary order of rum punch (alcoholic or non-alcoholic.) Guests may also want to participate in some of the beach activities, which include volleyball, sun bathing and water toys.
All in all it's an experience you won't want to miss out on. It's advisable to make your reservations before you arrive otherwise you may end up missing out on a once on a lifetime opportunity.
